Congratulations to the winners of the 2002 Donnie Arthur Scholarship Award. Two recipients received awards of $1,000.00 each to pursue a turfgrass education. This year our winners were Scott Kuhn and Bobby McAnnally. Bobby traveled from Horry Georgetown to personally accept his award at the Annual Meeting. He is pictured to the left with his mom.

Bobby is in his second year of an associate degree at Horry Georgetown Technical College. Bobby’s field of study is "Golf Course Management." Bobby is a student member of GCSAA. He is a student member of the Carolina GCSAA and Vice President of the student chapter. Bobby served as an intern at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, KY. He also worked as an equipment operator at Lagoon Park Golf Course in Montgomery, AL. Bobby’s hobbies include golfing, softball, fishing and hunting. He enjoys coaching basketball and has worked as an assistant coach in Junior and Senior High School in Montgomery and Holtville, Alabama.

Vincent Scott Kuhn, our other scholarship recipient, is a Junior at Mississippi State University. Scott’s field of study is "Agronomy – Golf and Sports Turf Management". Scott was an intern at Old Overton Golf Club in Vestavia Hills. Scott also served as a co-op intern at the Country Club of Jackson in Jackson, MS. He is a student member of the GCSAA and was a recipient of the GCSAA Merit Scholarship in July 2002. Scott also was awarded the Mississippi-Louisiana Chapter’s scholarship this year. Scott is an Eagle Scout who lists his hobbies as hunting, fishing, golf and weightlifting. Scott is a native of Millport, Alabama.

Congratulations to both of the AGCSA Donnie Arthur Memorial Scholarship recipients! The Association wishes them the best in the successful pursuit of their careers.
